L.A.-based singer, songwriter, and actress Skyler Day caught our attention late in 2019 with the floating Pop song “Sleepwalking”. The artist details the single and much more in a preview of out video coverage coming soon!
“I wrote ‘Sleepwalking’ when I was on my honeymoon and I was thinking about how absolutely amazing and crazy it is to find your person and then be like ‘hey I love you and want to be together forever. Let’s do this thing and it might be crazy and scary at times but I love you through it all’ so yeah that’s how ‘Sleepwalking’ started.”
“I really just hope my music makes people feel something. It’s the greatest thing in the world when someone tells me a song of mine made them feel better after they went through something or made them feel more understood or less alone or made them happy. I really just want my music to make people feel something.”
“In 2020 the first thing up for me is a show at the Troubadour. I’ll be playing there on Friday January 17th. It’s my favorite venue of all time. If you’re around come out! Other than that new music and hopefully I’ll be going on the road.”
“‘If The World Was Ending’ by JP Saks featuring Julia Michaels. That song just kills me I love that song… Camilla Cabello’s whole ‘Romance’ album, I love it. It’s Brilliant, ‘Bad Butterflies’ is such a cool song. ‘Norman Rockwell’ Lana Del Rey’s new album is brilliant.”
“An artist I would love to collaborate with in 2020 is Kacey Muscgraves…I absolutely love her. I actually submitted my music and won a mentorship with her this year…I got to go to Austin City Limits and sit down with her and talk about music and the industry and it was just the best. I love her”
“Everything..Absolutely everything. Music has always been there for me. It never fails me and it’s my favorite way of expressing myself and getting all that crap out. Also getting all the good stuff out and I kind of see music as like a photo album for my ears like it’s my way of capturing moments in time and holding on to them and it’s also really cheap therapy so that’s good.”
